On 29th July 2021, International Business Accounting, Petra Christian University conducted a webinar with the topic “Conquest of the Ace”

The guest speakers are James Wright MSc, ACCA, from University of Lincoln, UK, and also working as the senior lecturer / programme leader at University of Lincoln; Dr Josua Tarigan as the Head of International Business Accounting Petra; Mrs. Hani Karunia as the Head of ACCA Indonesia, and Alan Darmasaputra MPAcc., MBus acting as the moderator of this seminar.

In this webinar, the speakers discuss what is the pathway that students can take in order to pursue their career as an “Ace Accountant” in the future. The speakers also explain how Big Data Analytics and Digital Accounting is now becoming the key focus for future accountants.

Mulai dari 14 – 21 Juni 2021. 23 siswa IBAcc akan mengambil bagian dalam Sunway Global Virtual Audit Simulation

Ini adalah pengalaman yang sangat unik di mana siswa dapat bekerja sama bahu membahu dengan siswa lain dari negara Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, dan Cina. Dalam Simulasi Audit ini, 285 mahasiswa di seluruh negara tersebut juga akan bekerja sama dengan praktisi dari Perusahaan Jasa Profesional multinasional, yaitu, PwC, EY, KPMG, Delloite, dan BDO.

Pada tanggal 21 Mei 2021, Akuntansi Bisnis Internasional, Universitas Kristen Petra mengadakan Accounting Talk kedua kami tahun ini dan kami sangat bangga menghadirkan Divya Tiwari, MBA dari London Stock Exchange, Inggris dan Ignas Zimaitis, MMkt dari Universitas Vilnius, Lithuania, mereka berdua bertindak sebagai pembicara kami untuk webinar "Digital Business & Marketing Strategy Outlook" ini.

Setelah memperkenalkan diri dan menjelaskan latar belakang singkat mengenai Teknologi Finansial, Divya Tiwari, MBA berbicara tentang Sepuluh Kekuatan Teknologi yang Penting selama era digitalisasi ini. Dia juga menyarankan Enam Prioritas untuk 2021 dan tahun tahun selanjutnya bahwa peserta perlu fokus untuk dapat bersaing di dunia global.

Dalam webinar ini, Ignas Zimaitis, MMkt lebih lanjut menjelaskan tentang Digital Marketing Strategy Outlook. Selama presentasinya, ia menjelaskan Orientasi Manajemen Pemasaran dan efek Covid-19 terkait hal tersebut. Dia juga membahas beberapa kasus menarik yang berbeda di mana bisnis dapat menciptakan keunggulan kompetitif yang unik di pasar.

pada tanggal 1 Maret minggu lalu, International Business Accounting, Universitas Kristen Petra mengadakan Accounting Talk kami yang pertama di tahun ini dan kami sangat bangga untuk menampilkan Professor Jacqueline Birt from University dari Western Australia (UWA) sebagai pembicara utama kami di acara dengan topik “Data Analytics for Accounting” ini. beliau juga merupakan Head of Accounting and Finance di UWA Business School.

di webinar tersebut, Professor Jacqueline Birt menjelaskan mengenai peran akuntan dalam analisis data dan mengapa akuntan perlu mengerti serta memahami tentang analisis data. dalam penjelasan beliau selanjutnya juga diberikan beberapa contoh data analytics software termasuk korelasi antara Data analytics dengan kurikulum akuntansi.

peserta webinar ini berasal lebih dar 10 negara dan lebih dari 60 institusi dengan total lebih dari 190 peserta.

On November 28th 2020, International Business Accounting, Petra Christian University invited Mr. Robin Wibowo, Director of Human Resource (Pre-opening Team) from The Langham, Jakarta

His passion in L+D from building & designing program he learned takes him to share his knowledge to lecture on "Managing Compensation: Pay Structure, Incentives and Benefits" in IBAcc especially for batch 2019 accompanied by one of our lecturer Deborah C. Widjaja, S.S., MSM., Ph.D.

In this guest lecture, Mr. Robin emphasize that he nessesity for the students to :

1. Understand how to a company's pay structure is set strategically from the real industry context (especially in the hospitality industry)

On 31 October 2020, International Business Accounting, Petra Christian University conducted the second business analytics workshop with the topic of “Business Analytics for Accountants part II: The Power of Ms. Excel”.

The guest speaker is Stephen Christian SE., MSc in Business Analytics from Warwick Business School, UK and also working as the Financial Analyst of Phillip Morris International, Hong Kong, and IBAcc lecturer, Alan Darmasaputra SE, MPAcc., MBus. is acting as the moderator of the workshop.

In the workshop, the speaker shares about the tips and trick in using Ms. Excel formula that is mostly used in performing data analysis, which includes customer analysis, profitability analysis, etc. From his experience working as financial analyst, he is demonstrating some Ms. Excel formula and macro that will make the analytical process more effective and efficient.
 
The participants of this workshop are not only from Petra Christian University students, but also from high school teachers and students, such as SMA Petra 3, SMA Petra 5, SMAK St. Carolus Surabaya, SMA Kristen Gamaliel Makassar, and MSCS Surabaya. This event attended less than 200 participants.

On 19 September 2020, International Business Accounting, Petra Christian University conducted the workshop with the topic “Business Analytics for Accountants: NOT Just Big Data”.

The guest speaker is Stephen Christian SE., MSc in Business Analytics from Warwick Business School, UK and also working as the Financial Analyst of Phillip Morris International, Hong Kong, and IBAcc lecturer, Alan Darmasaputra SE, MPAcc., MBus. is acting as the moderator of the workshop.

In the workshop, the speaker explained about the importance of having a good analytical mindset. From his experience working as the financial analyst, he is also showing some example and demonstration on how we can analyse data from daily information available in the news or any other source of information.

The participants of this workshop is not only from Petra Christian University students, but also from high school teachers and students, such as SMA St. Louis 1, SMA Petra 2, SMA Petra 5, SMA St. Albertus, Malang, SMA Vita, SMA Kristen Charis, SMAS Tunas Daud, SMA Petra 4, SMA Zion Makassar, SMA Gloria 2, Xin Zhong School, IPH School, SMAN 2 Lumajang. This event attendant by more than 120 participants

On 22 August 2020, International Business Accounting (IBAcc) program had a guest lecturer from one of  Petra Accounting alumni, Alexander Tansil. Currently he is working at Deloitte's Assurance Services (DAS) and also became one of TISAK-IAI (Tim Implementasi Standar Akuntansi Keuangan). The topic of the guest lecture is about IFRS convergence in Indonesia and also an update about PSAK 71, 72, & 73.

In 26th November 2019, International Business Accounting Petra Christian University held Accounting Talk. The topic is "Economic Outlook 2020" 

The Guest Speaker were Prof Lee Chew Ging from Nottingham University, Dr Ricky the Dean of Faculty of Business and Economics in Petra Cristian University, and the Head of IBAcc Program Mr Josua Tarigan PhD,CMA. They explained about Economic Outlooks right now, what will happen to Economic Outlookin 2020 in Indonesia & around the world, and what should we prepare for Economic Outlook 2020.

The participants that joins were Petra Christian University students and also practictioner and high school teachers.

On October 24-25, 2019, two Petra Christian University
accounting lecturers, Josua Tarigan (04-025) and
Saarce Elsye Hatane (04-027) attended training related to ACCA
(the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).

The ACCA Training  was conducted before the two lecturers attended the Oxford Brookes  University (OBU) graduation ceremony on October 26, 2019

The graduation ceremony was attended by 4 IBAcc alumnae from
a total of 11 alumnae who have earned a BSc in Applied Accounting
from OBU. The 4 IBAcc alumnae are: Calvin Sanjaya,
Lovina Pristya Liman, Gabriele Nia Ferdian,
and Maria Cynthia Elizabeth. Every IBAcc students have an oportinity to get a BSc in
Applied Accounting from OBU without going to England.
And students can choose to attend their graduations in Malaysia or
in Dubai or in the UK.

 In 4th October 2019, International Business Accounting Petra Christian University held Accounting Talk. The topic is "Why Machines and Artificial Intelligence Will Not Replace Accountants" 

The Guest Speaker were Yee Boon Foo, Phd, FCCA from Monash University and Cliff Octavianus Karyadi, MM, CMA from Philip Morris International. They will explain about why accountants cannot be replaced by machines and artificial intelligence.

The participants that joins were IBAcc students, Petra Christian University students and also some other people outside Petra Christian University.

In 28 August 2019, International Business Accounting Petra Christian University held Accounting Talk. The topic is "International Transfer Pricing: Conflic between Cost Minimization and Governments Reaction.The participants that joins are IBAcc students, Petra Christian University students and also people outside Petra Christian University.

In this first session, the Guest Speaker is Prof. Tristan Nguyen from Fresenius University, German. Here he is explain about what is international transfer pricing about and what is the effect for the Governments Reaction.

in 24 - 26 July 2019, International Business Accounting, Petra Christian University held Petra International Business Competition (PIBAC). The theme of the PIBAC in this year is Olympus.

The participant that join PIBAC are Senior High School students where they need to do the rally games, trading and case studies for their last. In the case studies the participants need to present their presentation to our judges which are:

- Josua tarigan, PhD., CMA, CFP, CSRA, CBA.

-Saarce Elsye Hatane, S.Ak., CA.

- Alan Darmasaputra

Sudah saatnya kita ketemu, angkatan 2019!

Sunway University, salah satu universitas terkemuka di Malaysia, mengadakan "Audit Simulation" setiap semester sejak tahun 2015. Acara yang merupakan buah pikiran dari bapak Teo Ee Sing ini, Executive Director dari Sunway College, diselenggarakan dengan kolaborasi antara Sunway TES Centre of Accountancy Excellence (STES CAE) dan ACCA. Acara ini juga didukung oleh 5 firma audit multinasional yang akrab disebut "Big 5" di Malaysia, yaitu Binder Dijker Otte (BDO), Deloitte, Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG), Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC), dan Ernst & Young (EY).

Yang membuat acara tahun ini berbeda adalah ini merupakan kali pertama mereka mengundang peserta internasional dari berbagai belahan dunia. Untuk pertama kalinya, "Global Audit Simulation" ini diadakan selama 10 hari dan diikuti lebih dari 200 peserta dari 6 negara yaitu Dubai, Bahrain, India, Oman, Indonesia dan Malaysia. Pada kesempatan kali ini, mahasiswa program studi International Business Accounting (IBAcc) dari Universitas Kristen Petra juga mendapatkan kesempatan unik untuk mengikuti program ini dengan mendapatkan beasiswa dari Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) Indonesia untuk biaya pendaftaran dan akomodasi di Sunway - Monash Residence.

Pada hari pertama, para peserta Internasional disambut secara khusus dengan tour di sekitar kawasan Sunway dan jamuan makan malam ala Timur Tengah oleh ACCA Malaysia. Acara pada hari berikutnya merupakan sebuah crash course sepanjang 6 jam tentang berbagai tahapan audit yang difasilitasi oleh Accounting firm - EY Malaysia.  Pelajaran yang didapatkan kali ini sama sekali berbeda dengan apa yang selama ini kami pelajari dari buku dan diharapkan dapat membantu kami dalam simulasi yang dimulai pada hari ke-3.

Pada hari ketiga, kami akhirnya dapat menemui anggota tim yang akan bekerja dengan kami untuk sekitar satu minggu kedepan. Mulai hari ini juga kami menjalani jam kerja yang panjang, dari pukul 8 pagi sampai 10 malam. Jam kerja yang disediakan pada dasarnya sangat fleksibel,  tidak ada paksaan bagi para peserta untuk bekerja sampai jam 10 malam.  Akan tetapi saat simulasi dimulai, para peserta Global Audit Simulation sangat antusias, banyak tim harus diingatkan untuk pulang pada jam 10 malam. Bahkan pada beberapa hari terakhir, panitia penyelenggara menambah jam kerja hingga pukul 11 malam  untuk memfasilitasi beberapa tim yang ingin melanjutkan audit mereka.  

Pada hari terakhir, semua kelompok harus mempresentasikan hasil temuan audit mereka di hadapan audit manager dari kelima firma audit di atas. Lalu pada acara penutupan, kelompok-kelompok terbaik akan mendapatkan hadiah dari Sunway TES untuk performanya yang baik. Universitas Kristen Petra juga dapat berbangga karena kelompok dari 2 mahasiswa kita, William Sion Tanggara dan Regina Karjohardjo menjadi kelompok terbaik yang masing-masing di- review oleh EY dan KPMG. 

Mengikuti acara ini merupakan keputusan yang tepat karena kami mendapatkan peluang istimewa untuk mendapatkan pengalaman praktis mengaudit sebuah perusahaan sebelum terjun ke dalam karir audit itu sendiri. Terlebih lagi, kami juga mendapatkan kesempatan untuk bekerja bersama dan berteman dengan tidak hanya mahasiswa dari Malaysia, namun juga mahasiswa dari negara-negara lain. 

On March, 2, 2019, There are 6 students from International Business Accounting of Petra Christian University who already finished the journey as the students in International Business Accounting (IBAcc) Program. They already graduated on that Saturday.
